Hello,
I have a Mustang I picked up in a TX hockshop a while back that is in very good condition, I think. It appears to be all original except for a bad installation of a double humbucker in the bridge position. Needless to say, the pickguard was somewhat mutilated in the process. (no, I wouldn't have bought it, but the price was...well...you know) The question is this: is it worth more if I sell it as is or should replace the offending parts with originals from elsewhere. A couple of pics here http://www.tumbleweedpacific.com/photo/ ... hp?album=9 Thanks in Advance,TASB

Hi there, i'd seriously replace it, if not for the original then for a decent replacment. The pick up looks as if it doesn't even line up correctly & as a result would probably sound shocking.......There's alot of people out there who don't know about guitar set ups & (personly) i'd feel bad letting it go as it is. (& for what it would cost to put right, you would get your money back on the sale of the guitar anyway),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thats my two cents

I tend to agree, it's a real hack-job. But it has a beautiful neck, nice grain. That's the main reason I bought it. I found it in a small shop in a small town in East Texas, I think someone was trying to get out of town, I almost felt bad about the price... almost...
Thanks, TASB
