Okay, what guitar did Keith Richards play to knock out the unforgettable fuzz riff in Satisfaction?
I've heard two answers over the years. A Telecaster, and a Guild Bluesbird. Anyone know for sure? |

It is hard to say for sure. That is something he might remember or have answered anywhere. I would doubt the Tele pretty much as he never played them early on. The fuzz would zap the tonal aspects of most guitars out of the picture. He did lots of gigs with several guitars back then, but he did play Harmony Meteors a bit, as well as a Gretsch, and Les Pauls before they were hip.

Hi
It has been said that Keith's Mono Black Gibson ES 335 was used, certainly of late. Dave

Was reading something about that guitar fairly recently (I think it's for sale.......again. That would be a helluva guitar to own. even more so than Eric's Blackey, Brownee, Whitey, and Bloo-ey etc)
Much as I like Clapton, and I do; I'd not want one of those stratocasters. Anyway, the ad/article did say something about Keith playing the LP on Satisfaction. But it didn't seem to sound definite. We'll know eventually. |
