Yeah, I agree with Mike - it isn't the best time to sell, so if you don't need to, hang on to it. You'll get more for it in the future.

Thank you both for the responses. I was just curious about the value of the Baldwin 712R guitar. I have never seen one or heard of it before as I bought it from a friend. I was trying to at least get $1000.00 U.s. Dollars for it but only had it listed locally. It is in great shape and I know the market is down, but I don't play 12 string and thought someone else might get better use out of it. I just have so many guitars and can't figure out which ones to sell. I love the sound and the tone that it has. I will post some pictures if I can.

I got mine 8 years ago for £450 but its cosmetically pretty beat up. A shop near me had one with a salmon pink refin that was listed at £800 at the same time which flew out the door after a week. Guess you just gotta hope the right buyer comes along!

Just noticed your listed one is made in Italy yet mine is in Britain and mine doesnt have the control plate on the back either! Those crazy Baldwin folks and their constant company changes! Can you tell me what serial number is on it? Mine is 70,978

Baldwin 712R Italy Serial Number
The Serial is N 1174 .
I just traded it to my friend for a Les Paul Special SL Humbucker series. He will get good use of it because he is a guitar genius who plays jazzy etc. Like The Cure, Police, Sundays but with more weirdness and different scales and Modes. I have a better shot at selling the Paul.

Bought this Lap-steel, or table-steel to be precise, the other day and have restored it to it's original working condition. Made a few parts; modified some and fitted new pots and output socket. It appears, by the use of the vintage components, to have been hand made in the 60's and came with it's own custom made fitted case. It has a strange scale length of 27" but the fretboard has been calculated correctly. The base is made of a solid chunk of beech wood.
Restoring it was fairly easy; learning to plat it will be the hard part. Mike.
