Just to say hi and that I was introduced to your site via "repairman 77", glad he did too!
I own several Gibsons and Marshal amps which are used for business and pleasure.
Looking forward to becoming more involved.
Dave

I'm new to some, not to others---you can see my posts in the Blues Rock World section---that's where I came from.

I've been playing many years, it's a hobby I can't shake.

But I love it.

Default Hello fellow gear heads.

New to the forum. Thought I'd introduce myself.

Currentley playing an old Ventura 335 copy, not sure of the year, it's difficult to track down. I play it through a 76 Twin Reverb that my son hopes to make his own some day.

Ok, I've been popping into this Forum from time to time for a while, but thought I should register......and it appears that I must have registered ages ago, but never made any posts... (also got an email telling me about the new forum software)

Anyway, I would have been checking on vintage Gibsons as I've got a couple I consider vintage....73 EB3 and an 80 Flying V2 ....I've owned the EB3 since new, sold a 72 Fender Jazz to buy it, I should have kept it, but wasn't overly fussed on the Fenders at the time, and besides, Andy and Jack both played Gibsons!!

Now I'm here again checking out the Vox section..... I bought an early 60's Vox Cougar a dozen years ago, that I played until it was coming apart and had to be held together with tape....it had to be retired as it was beyond repair...it was my favourite bass for what I was involved in at the time....just loved the tone.
Recently built a replica of it, that I'm very happy with....(I know....pictures............Will post something soon)

So, obviously I'm a bass player, but I'm hooked on guitars too!
I'm a silversmith in my day job, but have been repairing and building guitars and basses for a while now too...

I'm looking forward to spending a bit more time here than I have.
Cheers,
Doug..

Hi Doug, and welcome. Sounds like some nice guitars. I do like the V2, especially in walnut, but I haven't played one yet. Certainly looking forward to the pictures

Thanks Jules,
I'll get some pics up into the relevant threads in the next day or two.
The V2's aren't everyone's cup of tea, mines a walnut one, bought it 4 or 5 years ago....it was love a first sight!
Actually, I think they're sleepers, their true worth will become apparent in a few more years.

Doug..
