Gibson g-3 for sale. Serial number is 81725583. Duno what year that makes it. This is the bass I posted earlier about. I pulled the pick guard off to see about the "wobbly" pickups and all is well. Turns out they just needed some fine tuning with the pickup screws with the strings (which were riding against them) off.
It is a natural finish, I'm going to call the condition somewhere between used and "players." No major flaws that I can see apart from normal signs of aging finish, although it appears that at one point somebody decided to try and put another screw thru the pick guard/glue it down. It shows just a little bit, most of the sign of that is under the guard. Taking offers, pictures to come later, I'm not sure how to post them on here, but I can probably email them later this week. |

I would also like to point out that there is a small blemish on the back of the neck which I have photographed. Here are the pics, let me know if you have questions. We'll start the price tag at $850 USD.

strings came off to photograph with pickguard off. Pickups are most certainly there, they are just the same color as the pickguard and my camera is junky. some g-3's had white pickups, some had black.

Thats an '85 - a really really late one. And quite interesting.
I've never seen many (if any?) '83 or '84 G3s, but I had seen just one '85. There was always the possibility that it was actually an older bass with a factory replaced neck. But this bass shows that a batch (of at least two) were made in 1985 the other ones serial number was 81725528. So both were stamped on June 21st, 1985 at the Nashville plant. As far as I know, all other Grabber and G-3 production was at Kalamazoo. This is a Nashville G3 - one of the last made. The other one was antique sunburst by the way. Cool bass, good luck with the sale! |
