Hello there,
In my unstopable rush to buy some real gibson stuff Ive stumbled on a sb450 in the states, I got a reasonable price on the thing so Im quite happy. First I wanted a ripper... but you know it isnt real cool to look at.. I like the sg shape very much... also its a longscale bass and it produces the sounds (I just freakin love the meshell ndegeocello sound! check her new album I beg you!) I crave pretty bad. Basicly Im buying el cheapo '60 jazz bass with humbuckers, and a set neck so I can make typicly set neck whail noizes higher on the neck  plus its downright dirty sounding when diggin in hard! :D yes Ive heard sound clips of this bass and I loved it! Here you have some pictures of it.. I have seen prettier ones but I bought it with my ears wich is the right thing to do I guess! Edit: Ofcourse sb450s are much better sounding then fender jazzes I just said that to piss mr reaper off :D http://www.blairntcentral.com/links4.htm

Well I haven't seen any pictures of her latest album yet, she allways just seem to switch from one brand to another.
In the past she endorsed gibson, modulus and even fodera. She really craves old basses tho and I have seen one live show where not she but one of the bands bass players (she does not play bass all the time) plays on a old les paul triumph bass. But if you listen to the new album you clearly hear its a set neck vintage bass with humbuckers... and its prolly long scale judging on one tracks its tuned in deag and sounds really loose, a short scale all ways sounds more compact. So I dont really know. the 26th of this month Ill see her perform in the netherlands where I live so maybe then Ill know what it is she uses this time... Here are some links to what I mean. On second thought what the hell is this bass? looks like an old les paul... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_Fh6eOsyXs Oh yeah 60s jazzes do sound cool ofcourse! atleast if you have the right one like this one:D skip this foreward 3 mins. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srCZE_jIYdk Early days with a gibson les paul special... Tho the song is lame as hell... the bass sounds very cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srCZE_jIYdk I guess I found the awnser... she now has her own signature fodera bass it seems! again a clip! Fodera is not in the budget range im looking normally :D But this sure is freaky! skip to about a minute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N2JDkiofyU

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you all know that the post by BramS is NOT true and this bass is still for sale. The bass in the picture was never sold and is still alive, and well. And is still for sale. Make me an offer! Bill |
