Default Some info on my les paul bass?

Hi

I bought a used LP bass about 10 years ago. I just decided to find out a bit more about it and stumbled across these forums. Hi!

I've had a quick search here and saw the explaination about dating the LP by the serial number. That makes mine a '91 by the looks of things. I just first wondered if the Bartolini pick ups were standard for their day or maybe added by a previous owner, or if this particular instrument is in anyway different form the standard LP? Any info would be appreciated! I've added a couple of pics.

Thanks!

Lee

very nice, but not 91 more like 94 or 95 or 96 with those block inlays,i belive that is an LPB2. the standard or LPB3 has a carved top, binding and chrome TB+ pickups.

I agree. LPB-2 (Les Paul Deluxe). Can't be a '91, they weren't around yet then.

If your serial number appears to be a '91 (first digit 9, fifth digit 1) but the first two digits are 94, then you have a '94. That was Gibson's centennial year and it's an exception to the usual dating rules. The Barts were standard on the LPB-2.
