Default G-3 project fretboard question

ok, I am looking for opinions on this project. I had to remove the maple fingerboard off of this poor grabber I am rescuing. I replaced it with a Martin 23 fret board, and am undecided if I should keep it with the overhang or trim it down to stock 20 fret size. What do you guys think?

Definately trim it. It would be out of character and kind of weird to me.

Default trim

Nice idea to have the extra frets, but yeah trim, it would be too easily damaged I feel.

Nonsense, keep the overhang! I have a fretless Ripper turned double octave by the preowner via fretboard extension and it works just fine.

Getting rid of it would be the silliest technical step back since the successor model to the Messerschmidt BF-109 E type, the F type, sacrificed one of the former's two 2 cm canons. We all know where that got us ...

Thanks for all the ideas and opinions, guys!

Im not 100% certain, but I may go ahead and finish out the fretwork and keep the overhang...at least for a bit. Try it out, and see what I think. I can always go back and trim it down later if it is bothersome or just doesnt work visually. I am pretty much a purist with the ripper/grabber when it comes to visuals, but since its something that cam easily be undone later, I`ll probably give it a shot and see how it goes.

i would say no to the overhang, why would you need frets all the way up there for anyway?
