After searching three long years, I finally got my hands on an RD Artist. But here is the kicker, there isn't a case. I contacted Gibson and asked if they themselves had hardshell cases available for purchase, but to no avail. I am fully aware that many members of this board have extensive knowledge on Gibson basses, so I figured I would ask you guys, do you know where I can find a hardshell case for my RD Artist? (I haven't seen one on ebay, ever.)

Hi, I'm not positive on this but would a Thunderbird case not fit it? I used to have a Thunderbird and currently own an RD and I'm sure the Thunderbird case would be big enough.

Uwe suggested an epiphone explorer bass case will fit all the longer Gibson basses......
and yes there was one on ebay a few weeks back...... Jules |

RD cases actually come up fairly often - I've seen at least 3, if not more, in the last year. At least one of them was in fantastic shape. Just be patient, it will come..... or go eith the Epi. They come up much more often than EB0/3 or 70s LP cases.

My original RD case was seriously under built for how heavy the bass is.
First the handle wrenched out, then the latches gave way and finally the sides split apart. I would buy something else.
