Default 24 CLEAN sounds of a '74 Les Paul Triumph

On a Dutch Bassforum I started a topic about the CLEAN sound differences between several brands of basses, just to compare. Among these basses was also my ’74 LP Triumph, with just one setting.
Another Dutch Bass-believer (Rob) said it would be nice to here some more differences from the Triumph. So I did, and started recording… (took me quit some time though…)

In order to do so, I plugged my Triumph right into an external soundcard (Edirol USB Audio interface UA-3D, 16 Bit). No effect’s in between. Recorded it with Wavepad to an MP3 format. Played with my forefinger on Fender 7150 RW strings.
I came up with a grand total of 24 different soundpositions. I tried my best to play the same rif everytime, using all 4 strings at the low end position. Some of the sounds don’t differ much, some of them a lot. Very interesting indeed…

This is the (familiar) controlplate of the Triumph:

And here’s my code at the end of the soundlink:
1st letter: F = front pup; M = both pup’s; R = rear pup;
2nd & 3rd letter: Hi or Lo output;
Iph of Oph: (only combinated with M!) is In or Out Phase;
Number 3, 2 or 1 stands for the position of the tone-switch.

very interesting indeed, very good job!

with so many options it will be hard to choose which sound you want to use.
I would rather like a more simple bass with just a three position switch.

What I noticed is that although the sound difference are there, the bass sounds somewhat similar in all 24 positions. The main character of the bass is there in all these positions. It is not so much a difference as say on the three positions of a jazz bass.

My favoutite position is the very first example,

What is your favourite position? I am still talking about the bass of course..haha

Yeah right...

I like the MLoOph3 the most, recorded like this.

When I use the Triumph on my Ampeg 4V-BH/610HLF, I mostly have the RHi1.Cause that really pump's up with the valves and bites right through the sound...

The bass really sounds great. One of these days I'm going to have to get one.

Default Have a Gibson Triumph, year??

Just wondering what it is that I have!!

Picked it up about 12 years ago or so, some guy brought it into Sam ASh in NY and I plucked it the same day. Its totally original with the case and everything (except the strings). There was even a crusty ol' strap in the compartment that who knows where it came from except I still have it.
Its pretty mint except the plastic control panel is SLIGHTLY cracked by the screwhole by the output jack.

Im guessing that its a 73 or 74, serial number 390733. Any ideas?? I would post pics but I dont see where to do that here?
