Hi guys,
This is my first post so try to go easy on me. I, as you can tell by my username, really want a Gibson Grabber bass. I have so for about 5 years now. Unfortunately, due to my financial situation, I can't afford anything over $580 ($600 is okay but pushing it). I have tried to snag myself a bargain on ebay but have gone crazy trying to get one over the past five year losing literally hundreds (116 to be exact) auctions. Most of which I lost in the last seconds by snipers. I am afraid for my mental health to try to get a Grabber on ebay anymore. Therefore I am begging you all HELP ME PLEASE! Where can I go about getting a Gibson Grabber (no G3s please) for $580? While I do care about cosmetics, if the electronics are all original and work good then I can by a cosmetic fixer upper. If anyone knows where I can get a Grabber for the price I said in the condition I said I would greatly appreciate it. Even better, if anyone would be willing to sell me one for that price I will forever be in debt to you. I appreciate everyone who lends a helping hand to my cause and thank you so much anyone who helps me. Hopefully my username will go from IWANTAGRABBER to IHAVEAGRABBER! Thanks again guys! -Matt perljammer10@gmail.com |

I don't know of a specific bass for sale, but here are a couple of tools that have helped me when prowling for stuff:
There's a Craigslist search aggregator that I use sometimes to dig through listings in multiple cities/states. http://www.craigshelper.com It's kind of clunky to use, but it beats the alternative of searching individual CL sites for every city. As for Ebay, there's really no getting around snipers. You can use http://www.auctionstealer.com to place automated bids for free over the web (and it doesn't require you to download or install anything, which is cool). The highest proxy bid still wins in the end, but this tool/tactic might help you keep from driving the price up ahead of time, since people won't have a chance to react to your bids. It's also nice in that you don't have to babysit the auctions anymore - just put in your max bid ahead of time, and let the tool do the rest. Happy hunting!

Hi Matt,
sorry - can't help you with a grabber, but keep looking. I reckon you should get one on ebay for $600. Might be beaten, or refinned, and with no case, but I still think you should be able to get one. |
