Default About one Rd Artist

This is a Gibson Rd Standard. It's a passive bass. I have one Rd Artist and you can read under the serial number the word: SECOND. Do you know what that means? Thanks.

Hi Dave,

My RD Artist is also stamped "second" and I have a ripper stamped "2". As I understand this usually means the bass/guitar has some flaw in the finish. I can find the flaw on my Ripper but I am not sure what the flaw is on my RD. It's usually difficult to tell if the bass/guitar has the usual checking/wear to the finish.

There are no other issues with a second that I am aware of so they are usually perfectly good instruments and certainly my Ripper and RD are great.

Default Rd Artist

Thanks Graham. I don't know what's the flaw in my Rd Artist, i just know that sounds great and it's the greatest bass i own ( thunderbird, ripper, precision ). By the way, what strings you have in your Rd Artist? Also in my ripper i think there's a flaw. The transfer switch is looking to the strings and not looking for below. I don't know if you could understand me. Excuse my english. Anyway i'll post pictures asap.
