Default non reverse thunderbird

Gibson non reverse Thunderbird II on the bay - looks pretty clean doesn't it. I wonder what impact it being in Singapore might have....

Default Legit

Looks legit, but is pricey.

Also it always scares me when a bass is shown without strings. Leaves doubts about the neck.

Default tbird non rev

yes theres a small mark on the back of the headstock - can't see what it is....... maybe a hole? sure he would have mentioned that though.

Shame the pickguard has shrunk a little....

I guess you have to assume that its had a headstock repair and bit accordingly. If it hasn't you got lucky. The metal parts and finish are in very nice shape though - I can live with a neck repair as long as its stable...

a really nice example repair or not......

I got a 1966 just like that, 'cept the headstock was broke off twice because of a bad design of the case...

If your E-string machine head was in a vertical posistion it put pressure on the headstock while in the case and if it got bumped to hard or even dropped an inch or two it broke the headstock off.. :(

Default neck break case

that must have been so distressing - opening the case to find it had broken the thing it was supposed to protect .... Was there more than one type of case for non-rev birds? I'm looking for one myself, and I don't want something thats going to be a liability

Well I bought it from an Enginner when I was in the Studio and it had already been broken once and refinished which lessened the value...

The second time was when I moved from Houston to L.A. in the late 80's and it got it again in the truck....

It's the 3rd from the right in the picture... One of these days I will have it refinished again...
