Default Thunderbird "'60s Vintage" Replacement Bridge

Howdy, folks:

About a week ago during a web search to see if there were any ‘60s reproduction T-Bird bass bridges out there to be had, I came across a link to a web site that was offering replacement bridges for Gibson/Epiphone Thunderbirds. I went to the site and found a typical three-point bridge so common to the ‘70s Gibsons and Epiphone Thunderbirds; but I was surprised to see that it came with a ‘60s style stop tailpiece! It didn’t make any sense why you would need that with three point bridge? But, it was the tailpiece that I was interested in, but stupid me, I forgot to bookmark the site! I tried all week to relocate the link with no successes…bummer. Would any of you folks here be familiar with this site? If so, would you e-mail the link to me at: pettigew62@yahoo.com. Thank you,

Sincerely: Danny

Hey Danny,

yeah, these were available for quite some time - potentially Allparts (?)

However I understand whoever did them stopped doing the tailpiece. Allparts certainly still make the brideg though.

I did get one once, but I am not 100% certain it was Allparts. I'm sure someone else can remember.

Howdy, Jules:
Thanks for the info! At least I have something to google now. Another thing that I find aggravating is the new reproduction T-Bird bridge I’m planning to buy soon don’t come with the tailpiece! Doesn’t figure?

Thank you for your reply.

Sincerely: Danny

Scott Dasson makes replacement 60's bridges, but offer more travel for better intonation.

Howdy:

Well, I finely located a reproduction of a ‘65 Thunderbird bass bridge (by Ben Lindsey Guitars) and should have it in a week or two. But the down side is, I’m having trouble trying to locate an aftermarket tailpiece to go with it. Dose any body out there have an “old” discarded T-Bird tailpiece that they got with a Allparts three point bass bridge they don’t want?…I have money!

Sincerely: Danny Walden (AKA: LedZepplane)

Dr Bassman made some tail pieces PM, him here. Not sure he has any left though, but might know if Tony does?
