Default Need Grabber Serial Number Help....

Does 00184176 on a (G1) Grabber correspond to 1976 or is it in fact an earlier year?

And for whatever year - can the body wood be determined?

Any constructive commemnts welcomed.

John.

When I give it in to The Guitar Dater Project without details it says 2004...
Have you had it for a long time? pics and details about the bass would help a great deal...

Yeah, guitar dater is best for newer stuff. This logo is a transfer rather than a stamp right? Yes, the first two digits 00 correspond to 1976 (99 being 1975, 06 being 1977) - this is just another Gibson serial number anachronism that occurred on some but by no means all guitars between 75 and 77
