Default Ripper pick ups

Hey,
wondering if any one else has the same problem or can help me.

I have 1978 ripper and a 1975G3, the sounds are totally different and I use them for different styles but the level of the volume output in the ripper is only a third of the G3. Their just seems to be no power in the ripper at all. Is it that I need to reposition the pick ups or could there be an wiring problem going on?
I'm debating changing the pick ups to get more out of it as its so nice to play that I have stopped using it live as the levels are too low.

Any thought to putting a G3 pickup set up in a ripper?

Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
The Ripper
