I am looking for information on Greg Lakes Ripper. I have never a black body maple neck production model. Was his custom? In an article in Guitar Player it mentions a mid-range choke. Did the production models come with this feature?
Thanks |

Are you talking about the September 1974 issue of Guitar Player?
yes they all came with a choke (and the four way varitone switch), but you are right, the black ones were typically equipped with ebony fret boards. |

Yep, that's the issue. On the live album is sounds great and I always thought it looked cool but I have never seen another like it. Gibson will refinish a natural one so I am searching for a beater. Thanks for answering.
