Very interesting; haven't seen this on any bass or guitar I've wired before.
Looks like a standard two pick-up, two volume and 2 tone control set-up but with a 6 way switch.
That's the strange part. There would logically only be 3 options, neck pick-up, bridge pick-up and both.
However it looks like some of the contacts on the switch are linked so I'm wondering if it operates as a 3 way or whether there's any variation over the whole 6 positions?
Perhaps someone else recognises it and it's reason for having a 6 way switch?

Ah, that makes sense then; although I haven't seen that arrangement before.
Perhaps it's used on a certain model or edition?
Mike.

JayJay; I note you said that you had been told that the circuit had been fitted from new.
This would be strange as I can't see any major manufacturer like Gibson supplying a circuit to fit in a rival product of a copy of one of their guitars. I would also imaging that law suits would have been flying if Hoyer had copied their unique circuit for their copy of the Gibson product.
It will be very interesting to know if Hoyer get back to you.
Mike.

That is a quality copy. Nice bass. Set neck or through neck?

I have never seen anything like this on a Gibson before, but I haven't seen inside every Gibson model.

Could someone have just added the word Gibson inside their guitar?

Jay, this definately isn't the case. No production Gibson bass has anything even vaguely similar to this. Sorry I can't help more.

Well Hoyer, just like Gibson and many others, has changed ownership a few times. With each change, a lot of technical and historical information is lost.

Hopefully someone with a similar bass will find this thread and add their Hoyer EB3 style bass pictures.
