Default New EB3 re-issue? (SG reissue)

I just wondered what people thought of the new re-issue Gibson SG bass?perhaps it's wrong to call it a EB3,please give me your views on the new,verses the old,in build and tone,thanks,J.

Yeah, they are good basses. A lot tamer than a real EB3, and a lot more reliable too. The EB3 varitone is prone to loose connections (at least after 40 years) and the SG bass is pretty robust.

I like the extremes of the original, but the SG bass is excellent for someone who wants the general EB3 vibe, but finds the most outrageous tones unuseable.

I'd happily play either with my band (and do)
