Default Whats a good amp for EB3 and 60/70-rock?

Our bass player is going to buy an amp. Our band plays 60/70 (hard)rock.
He's concidering the Markbass Little Mark II with Markbass 410HF.
Will this be a good match with his soon to be Gibson EB-3, or should he choose something else? (Is Markbass more a clean sound amp?)
Should he maybe concider a valve amp?
And what about cabs, would a 410 suit our style of music?

Default EB3 amps

I use a 1972 (valve) Fender bassman head with an Ampeg 410HE cab with my EB3s.. although there is no line out, and persuading sound men to mic me up rather than DI me is not always possible. Alot of people here prefer Marshalls (that is what the classic EB3 players used - Andy Fraser, Jack Bruce)

It is a good idea to take your bass into shops and try things, rather than using the basses they provide

I'm also considering trying something new, so I welcome other peoples suggestions.
