Default 1987 Gibson Victory Custom Shop Bass

Morning... I read your Gibson Bass threads regularly. I saw the site link to eBay for the "1987 Gibson Victory Custom Shop Bass Guitar" which is a buy now offering. Anyone willing to comment on this bass and whether it is an original? Thanks

It's legit and original, but it's a Q-80, not a Victory. All Q-80s had the custom shop logo. The body is mahogany, not maple. It has Ripper pickups.

The ones I've seen in the last couple of years have been in the $500-600 range, but at $699 this is within reason.

It has the same shape body, hence the name confusion

Thanks guys. Do you know much about the Q-80 playability? I am guessing that these are heavy guitars too. Anything unique about the setup?

My son has had one for over 15 years. It feels more Fender like, but higher quality. With the ebony fingerboard & low action it was a nice playing bass, but a far cry from an EB-2.

Thumbs up gibson Q-80

Looks like a nice bass, and a reasonable price with case. I've never owned one, so I can't really comment about playability, but that one looks pretty nice.

Prices on these are not going to go down, if you want one, now is certainly the time to buy.
