hi everyone,

i kinda have the same problem.

I bought a Gibson SG Bass and was told it was made in '63. But its been reconditioned (not perfectly) so i'll like to know if anyone can tell me what year its from by the number on the head??

its 23768

any help would be great!!! I tried looking at the stuff on Gibson.com and couldnt get my head round it!!!

i'm pretty sure your bass is a 1961. that would be from the number you gave.

a '61!?! wow!! i thought with it being reconditioned it mustn't have been as old as 63.
how did you work it out??


Wonder what the value of it would be too! Never going to sell it but its nice to know :D
