Hi there,
I'm looking for a 1977 Grabber G-3 bridge cover. My question is: Are the bridge covers of the grabber, the Ripper an the G-3 the same? They look same shape, but is the size exactly the same? Does someone know the product number? Thanks |

Yup; all Gibby bridge covers are the same, with one exception: before 1967 they were nickel, after they are chrome. You want chrome (more common and not as expensive).

Hi, and welcome
Jakes strongpoint is electronics...... Actually there are (at least) four different bridge covers (according to the 1965, 1971 and 1977 part lists) Part HR-750B 1965 Thunderbird Nickel plated, no logo I don't own one of these, but believe it to be the same as 19410 below Part 19410 Ripper, EBs, SB350, SB450 Chrome plated, no logo hole distance 4 10/16 " (roughly) Part 19422 Grabber, G3 Nickel (perhaps some are chrome?), early ones have logos hole distance 4 1/16" (roughly) Part 19423 SB300, SB400 Nickel (usually with Gibson logo) hole distance 4 1/16" The 19410 is longer, tall but narrower (fractionally) than the 22 and 23. I am unsure of the difference between 19422 and 19423, they both fit on both basses - it might just be the logo, or something untangible like thickness of plating, with the early Grabbers having the left over SB300 covers.... furthermore there are at least two fonts for the logos, a scripted one, and a more typical 70s logo
I'll post pics (eventually) on the bridge page http://www.gibsonbass.com/bridges.php - that page is highly unfinished I know! |
