Hi, I'm new to this forum. I just bought a Gibson Rd Artist and I have 1 question: on the back plate there's a plastic plug that can be removed, I've removed it and I can see a potentiometer (or something else I don't know) my question is: what it is for ? Thanks

Hi Duffman,
and welcome to the forum thats the expander sensitivity control. If you took the board out you would see this on the other side ![]() if you turn the plug you are effectively turning this. Earlier models just have a hole, and you stick a small flat blade screwdriver in to adjust. Changes seem quite subtle to me...... How you finding the RD so far - quite a lot of RD owners here - certainly one of our favourite basses! |

Welcome fellow Canuk. Enjoy that RD - they're fun as all hell - the expansion mode (applies to rear pup only) rocks for overdriven chording (I like to use it to take over the rythm gyuitar riff so the guitard can solo).
