Default Old Tbird in action (from when you could buy 'em new)

It is shorter than it should be, but if this were any cooler, it would sh!t icecubes.

That's the late David Martin, who cofounded the band with Sam.

Default Sam the Sham

great clip - just goes to show you how a typical Thunderbird user has changed in 40 years.

Wouldn't you just love to play to that audience

I don't know that there is a typical Tbird user. Lots of metal guys I guess these days, but they don't play old Tbirds.

You have that guy - David Martin - and the Pharohs, and they are forever cool. Now you have maybe Nikki Sixx, who will always be uncool.

That audience looked a little strange though. I think that is from a movie, but I am not sure what.

Doh. It says it from When The Boys Meet The Girls. Can't say I have seen that on the shelf at Blockbuster.

It was yet another dreary Connie Francis movie of the era. Sam & the Pharaohs and Herman's Hermits were the entertainment.

Not Gibson-related, but at about the 1-minute mark of this video, you can see a few seconds of Sam performing at this year's SXSW.

That is pretty cool that he is still out there. But he should always appear in a turban.

I should check out sxsw one of these years. I like Austin, and spent a long time in the mens room of the Driscoll hotel with a case of the grizzlin's.
