I'm trying to familiarize myself with the thunderbird tone. Can you point me towards any thunderbird albums?

Its hard to say albums, because you never really know what is a true tone, but check out the Jethro Tull live at the Isle of Wight DVD
theres loads of it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...+isle+of+wight Some of my favourite Thunderbird playing here |

so many....
you can hear t-birds in action in albums by motley crue, nirvana, cheap trick, manic street preachers, sonic youth, placebo, u2, muse and so on. but if you're looking for a classic t-bird sound I think you should stick to The Who.

Martin Turner's TBird can be heard on Wishbone Ash's Live Dates and on IV (not on Argus, he still played a Ric 4001 then even though the cover shows him with a TBird, but that pic was taken after the recording sessions). He played the TBird on later recordings too, but interspersed with tracks played with a Fender or his Hamer Explorer bass (with sixties TBird pups).

John Entwistle used a non-reverse T-Bird to record Quadrophenia.
