Default My EB-4L

hi, i have been doing some research on this bass, 1971 Gibson EB-4L, and everything that i have found says that they are supposed to have a stable two-point bridge and my bass has the tilting, box-shaped two-point bridge with metal saddles, it is really bad i have restored alot of this with orginal gibson parts and the bridge is the last thing. Does anyone know of a good bridge that i can put on that will play and fit this thing?

Default bridge

Hi and welcome

There is a schaller replacement - long since discontinued - that will fit 460A (not the 460)

They are probably rarer than the original Gibson part.

You can try replacing the two hex screws that hold the bridge to the posts - if they are not holding tight you can expect tilt.

People have also put coins, cork, wood etc under the front of the bridge to stop it going forward. A small cork strip seems to work well without damaging the finish but I have been lucky enough to get away with new hex screws.

By the way, does anyone have a source for these? I have always got them from spare bridges bought from ebay........

lets see some EB4L pics!

Make a better Gibson bass bridge and the world will beat a path to your door.

hey umm this might be a stupid question but i have found a three-point bridge for an EB-0 does anyone think that this is something that might work for my bass (the one pictured above). The bridge is the closest looking that i have seen to the one that is supposed to be on mine.
