Default SB450 check it!

Have a look at this SB450.

Looks nice in walnut, but even better with the split diamond headstock, and inlaid logo. Doesn't look quite so budget now. Seing as we've started with some silver I wonder how a pair of chrome tbird pups would look in there.....

A definate improvement on the plain original headstock - nice customisation. Makes me wonder whats happened in its past though. Is that truss rod cover even attached?

I have one I've been working on that has the EB body shape with a Les Paul Triumph neck on it. Split diamond, no dot over the i and block inlays. It has the 3 point bridge.
Flat body with no bevels and only routed on the top The guy I got it from tried to tell me it was a 68 but I think he was wrong. It's 70's for sure. It had been rerouted (gouged out) and had jazz bass pups in it. I will post a pic or two when I can.
It's going to be a lot different when I get it finished with it.

Yeah - it would originally have had a decal rather than inlays, and no split diamond (at the time the only bass to have that was the Les Paul Triumph)

recommend it... thats a tough one. Traditionally an unmodified bass keeps its value far better than a customised one - but these are not really that collectable in the first place (though prices are rising). I doubt this mod will reduce the value - but it probably cost a good few dollars to get done

I would not do it myself - unless the bass had a headstock break that I wanted concealing

Hi Marc

what was '68, the neck or the body?

Sounds like a good project.

Colour? Pickups? Yes, please do post some pics. Some before and after pics might be good too
