Default sb-450 refinish

i want to sand down my nicked up sb and refinish,but will it come out the same after all the aging?i like the dull natural look

how are you going to refinish? i have used watco danish oil, and it looks great, maybe 30-50 light coats, very easy to apply

Depends on how darkened it is.

If you're in the US, you might consider Waterlox Original Sealer & Finish, at least as a sealer coat. It's an easy-to-use phenolic resin wiping varnish and it will darken the wood. You can find it at Woodcraft, Homestead Finishing and elsewhere. You can also topcoat with it, or you can use something else compatible as a topcoat.

Or you could use one or more coats of a dewaxed amber or garnet shellac as a sealer.
